   The English Vocabulary Profi le (EVP) is an online resource providing detailed information about the words, phrases, phrasal verbs and idioms that learners of English know and use at each of the six levels of the CEFR. The vocabulary syllabus of Prepare! has been informed by using EVP to ensure that students at each CEFR level are presented with high-frequency words and phrases that are suitable for their language level and relevant to each unit topic. Many of the most common words in English have a great number of different meanings, and a thorough knowledge of these words helps students to operate successfully even with limited language. The special Word profi le feature in Levels 4–7 deals with these powerful words in detail. Furthermore, the main vocabulary sections regularly focus on aspects other than ‘concrete’ topic nouns and verbs, such as adjectives and adverbs, prepositions, phrasal verbs, word families and phrases. All of these aspects are important if the syllabus is to provide true breadth and depth.

I really like going round the markets with my friends. There are markets on the first Sunday of the month near my house. They sell lots of different things. The market is divided up into different areas so for example there’s the food area. You can’t miss it because there’s a big sign above the entrance. You can do your weekly grocery shopping, you know, fruit and vegetables, or you can just have a coffee and a piece of cake there. Then there's the clothes section, which my sister loves but I think is really boring. I mean, clothes are clothes! One thing I like best about the market  is the second-hand goods area - that’s where you can find anything and everything! There are old books, furniture, kitchen equipment and some really amazing objects. The other week I found a really old paperweight; you use it to stop papers from blowing away. It’s made of heavy glass and it's beautiful because you can see different colours in it. I think it's an antique. But I think the best part is the entertainment. There's always someone playing some У 4 music. It’s such a great atmosphere.

American teenager Emily Hagins showed a strong interest in films and film-making at a young age, and often happily sat through some movies several times at her local movie theatre in Austin, Texas. She once wrote a letter to Peter Jackson, the director of her favourite series of films The Lord of the Rings. In his reply, he suggested a useful contact for Emily, who she later got in touch with. Emily started by producing several short films and a documentary.
Her father was helpful early on, having spent time with directors on film sets due to his job in advertising. However, although he guided her through what needed to be done, he made sure he left all the i directing up to Emily.

I love reading Ourreadingblog. It’s a blog about books for teens and it gives some really good reviews and articles. They are a good length – some blogs have very long posts. Also, Ourreadingblog has a few good photographs. But Ourreadingblog also has an Instagram and so there are photos of the covers of good books there. Ourreadingblog usually posts once a month but sometimes more often, when there are a lot of good books! I really like the links at the end of the review because they are useful. Readers can send in their own reviews too. It’s a great blog!
