There are usually about 45 students in a classroom. Students stay in the same classrooms for all subjects, teachers travel from classroom to classroom to teach their subjects. Starting from the third grade, each subject is taught by a teacher who specialises only in that subject.




The Zip.
Before zips most clothes, shoes and boots were fastened with buttons. There were often many buttons on each piece of clothing. And this meant that you needed a long time to get dressed!

On 29th August 1893 an American engineer, Whitcomb Judson, registered a new type of fastener with the US Patent Office. It was made of a series of wire hooks which were pulled together and locked by a metal guide. However there were problems as the fastener often got stuck or opened at inconvenient moments.

Another engineer, Gideon Sundback, made a better version of the zip in 1913. His zip didn’t use hooks but used teeth.
