I was talking to my grandparents recently and I found out that when they were teenagers, they were rockers. This was in the 1950s and rock'n’roll was something new and exciting. My grandfather used slick his hair back and wear pointy-toed shoes. My grandmother would wear dresses with tight waists full skirts. They hung out with other rockers and went to dances on Saturday nights. It’s odd to think grandparents as being young and cool!




Where do you, shop for clothes and why?
My favourite place to buy clothes is in the market. There are lots of different things to buy. Not just clothes but other bits and pieces like jewellery, candles, CDs and other things. The people buying and selling things really want to be there. Often in shops, the shop assistants are bored or uninterested in the things they are selling. You can find anything in a good market. The clothes are always different and interesting. They are also cheaper than most shops.

One day, I’d like to go to Camden Market in London. It’s actually several markets all close to each other. I’ve read that it gets more visitors than almost any other tourist attraction in London. I think there are only three more popular places. People from all over the world shop there, even the rich and famous. In most shopping centres, all you can buy is fast food but in markets you can get interesting vegetarian food or food from different countries.
