This dictionary, which provides the business terms of France, Canada, and the United States, truly reflects this state of affairs. There seems to be a vast difference between the business terms of France and Canada, and even within the terminology of each. One can detect ambiguities, as well as the incursion of English into French, particularly when it comes to either computer terms or idiomatic American English terms that do not easily translate into other languages (see, for example, “jobber”).
One should bear in mind that, in addition to the above, the terminology in this dictionary represents the economies and business systems of three different economic cultures. Given all of this, one should use this dictionary with caution, rather than assume that the terms and their equivalents are cast in stone. This maybe true about dictionaries and technical terms in general, but it is certainly true here.
